UPDATED: Fight Team Training
PART II – With Labor Day approaching, that means back to school (at least back in the day when schools started in Sept. and August meant you still get to enjoy your summer!) and new curriculums. The Thai Boxing Institute is also implementing some changes to its schedule!
SCHEDULE CHANGES –
A reminder that weekday morning MT classes are officially off the books until further notice. It may return and possibly with new hours so stay tuned for possible updates. If you have serious interests, send a message and we’ll keep track of everyone’s thoughts.
SEPTEMBER introduces BEGINNERS MUAY THAI
Tuesday and Thursday classes from 6:00pm-7:00pm will now be focusing on the basics techniques, working on the heavy bags, and overall conditioning. This class will not have students holding pads for one another (reserved for the intermediate/advanced MT classes).
Although it’s entitled for “beginners,” it’s really a chance to focus on your technique and re-establishing your foundation whether it be throwing a punch or a kick and remembering to keep your form and keep your hands up! You can never put in enough kicks when studying Muay Thai and this is a good opportunity to take your time and do it right!
NOTE: New member specials for the Beginners Classes will be the first three months at a rate of $99/month as well as waived initiation fees – an overall savings of $100.00!
FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! – TBI Fight Team Training classes on Saturdays at Noon
After some initial training towards fighting classes during the Saturday 11am MT classes, Coach Vik is looking to assemble a TBI Fight Team! Prep and training work will begin on Saturdays at Noon, after the usual 11:00am Muay Thai class.
Not ready to fight, but still want to train like you do? The Fight Team could still use members who are interested in getting a good workout – your participation will be helpful in working with the future fighters by acting as a sparring partner for technique drills, holding pads, and support.
Please note: If you’re interested in the Fight Team training but can’t make it to the 11am class, please consider getting in 10-15 minutes before the Noon course so you can warm up with skipping rope and/or shadow boxing so you can be warmed up. Since most will roll right from MT class into Fight Training, we’d like you to be prepped and loose as well.
And if you’re not sure what this will entail, ask Coach Vik. He’ll be making announcements in class as well.
KIDS can MUAY THAI too!
TBI is starting up Muay Thai classes for kids! TBI is running a trial period of classes for kids from September until the end of the year. For now, there will be a class run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm-5:00pm. Please check in with Coach Vik if you have questions and keep an eye out on this blog and the Schedule for updates and changes.
And please note: TBI will be CLOSED on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd for Labor Day.
